Mariah is my first Grandchild. Her first name intimidated me as a song writer because how does one ever compete with "They Call the Wind Mariah"? So I used her middle name, Cheyenne. Mariah is a straight A student and a gifted vocalist. She has just started to attend the Stake dances, even though her grandfather forbade it. I have just recently grounded her for dancing the Tango in a floor show at the last Stake Dance. Unfortunately her parents are more lenient than I. But I love her dearly and she is my good freind.
CHEYENNE LULLABY
Deep in your dreams
It never seems
Like you’ll know what it means
To be deep in your dreams
Then when it’s day
And your dreams are gone away
You’ll cry and dream
The Cheyenne lullaby
From your bed in the trees
Watch the moon through the leaves
Send a dream on the breeze
To your bed in the trees
And with the sun
When your moondreams are all undone
You’ll sigh and dream
The Cheyenne lullaby
From your mountain high
With wings you will glide
To the valley wide
Theh return to the sky
When your flight is done
And your life has just begun
You'll laugh and dream
The Cheyenne lullaby
