In the LDS Church every active male is assigned several families to watch over and be a support to. These are called Home Teachers because they are supposed to visit the home once each month and deliver a short spiritual lesson.
I want to be a good home teacher! I really do. But sometimes I get so busy, and other times I get so lazy, and still others I get so self indulgent, that I don't get out and see my families as I should.
So, of course, I blame it on my wife.
Well I’ve headed for the door a thousand times.
I think I’m about to loose my mind.
The Elder Quorum President wonders what for,
I just don’t do my home teaching anymore.
Oh Baby, you’re sweet as you can be,
And everything you do is a sin to me.
You’re wasting my time, I should be out the door,
Can’t do my home teaching any more.
Now don’t sit on that couch looking innocent at me.
I got the Priesthood, I know where I should be,
And each kiss is sweeter than the one before
And I can’t do my home teaching anymore.
Sad song! I'm gonna repent . . . tomorrow.
