All My Trials

(Gary Mccallister (one Man Mormon Blues Band))
II Nephi 4:12 "And it came to pass that he died and was buried."

This is the only song that that is not an original melody. The song "All My Trials" is an old folk song, probably coming out of the Caribbean region several hundred years ago. I changed the lyrics a little to reflect Lehi's life and situation, such as blessing his children. The fleeting saxaphone at intervals represents something about growing old. I am not sure what.

But it seemed to be the appropriate song to say goodbye with. By the way, if you listen to the end you will hear the heart beat slow and eventually stop. The fate of all men.
Beneath a tree in the morning sun
I remember my youth in Jerusalem
All my trials Lord sson be over
The sun is warm and I am cold
Saraih is gone and I grow old
All my trials Lord soon be over

Too late my children
Too late but never mind
All my trials Lord soon be over.

Hush now children come to be
That I might bless my posterity
All my trials Lord soon be over
Hush now children don't you cry
You know your Daddy was born to die
All my trials Lord soon be over

Too late my children
Too late but never mind
All my trials Lord soon be over.
