God has never spoken so clearly to me that I would drop everything and do as he says. I am always wondering if I have the right address before I break down the door. But Lehi must have been pretty clear on what was expected. Anyway, this is sort of a comic relief version of how it all might have gone down.

God said to Lehi "You gotta leave town"
Lehi stopped and looked all around
Lehis said to God "Who you talkin' too?"
God said to Lehi, "I'm talkin' to you"
Lehi said "That's not what I want to do
But a man's gotta do what God tells him to"
Lehi could see he was in a real fix
It's amazing how a man can move real quick

Lehi said the Laman "You gotta leave town"
Laman said to Lehi "That's not where I'm bound"
Lehi said to Laman "Well I'm taking the money"
Laman said to Lehi "Now, don't try to be funny"
Lehi said to Laman "That's what I'm going to do
Cause a man's gotta do what God tells him to"
Now Laman could see he was in a real fix
It's amazing how a man can move real quick

Lehi told his boys "Boys you gotta go back"
Laman and Lemuel about had a heart attack
"That's a whole lot of work just to take a look
Inside some dumb old genealogy book"
Lemuel said to Laman "We could see the girls too
And a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do"
Now Laman could see he was in a real fix
It's amazing how a man can move real quick

Lehi told his boys "Boys you gotta go back
We got our genealogy but there's something we lack
We need some girls to make a full crew
I know it's hard boys, but I'm counting on you"
I guess Lehi was expecting some flak
But he found he was speaking to the boys back
The boys could see they were in a real fix
