We tend to think of the Holy Ghost as a gentle soul. However, it appears to me that he plays multiple roles in our mortal existence. This was simply an experiment with words and ideas.

I called this the Mysterious Traveling Companion because I think of the Holy Ghost as a mysterious presence in my life. I believe it is that feeling telling me, for no real discernable reason, to turn left at an intersection, or to call home, or to go visit that person, or maybe just to duck.
I am the burning bush that stands on Holy ground
I am the sounding brass that made the walls fall down
I am the Holy hands laid on righteous heads
I am the simple words that raised Lazarus from the dead
I am the teacher
I am the just
I am the steel
I am the rust

I am the baby child leaping within the womb
I’m the miracle that brought him from the tomb
I’m the tinkling sound I’m the roaring wind
I’m the peace abound in the New Jerusalem
I am the comforter
I am remorse
I am the sea
I am the source

I am born of water when the spirit burns
I am the dove that flies when the season turns
I am the spirit of understanding I am the seven men
I am the sanctified Holy Communion
I am eh sermon
I am love
I am the Holy Land
I am the sky above

I am the silent sling that made the giant fall
I am the peaceful harp that hangs on David’s wall
I am the loaves and fishes I am the chariot in the air
I am testimony I am Sampson’s hair
I am the furnace
I am born again
I am the sacred gift
I am the lion’s den

I am the witness on the stand without any record
I am the bandages on the hand that cuts just like a sword
I am the blind man at the gate coming on a dead run
I am the gentle lullaby in the chamber of a gun
I am the teacher
I am the just
I am the steel
I am the rust
