One Man Mormon Blues Band: Music

Jerusalem

(Gary Mccallister (one Man Mormon Blues Band))
I Nephi 1:18 ". . . behold, he went forth among the people, and began to prophecy and to declare unto them concerning the things which he had seen and heard."

I made this song somewhat repetitious since it seemed clear to me that Lehi preached to the people until they were entirely fed up with him. So the song basically tells the same prophecies over three times, hopefully with enough variance and crescendo to keep it interesting. For the sake of brevity, I will only include the verse through once.
I watch from above The silver wind blows
Outside the walls Dance the dogs and the crows
History of the earth written backhand
This is Isaac and Ishmael land

I see chariots and armies come
Horizon of time I hear trumpets and drums
Babies and maidens and young men gone
Watered with blood all life withdrawn

Jerusalem Desolation
Babylonian infestation
I see Solomon's Temple gone
And all the people in Babylon

Jerusalem Desolation
Jerusalem Jerusalem
How I would have gathered you
If only you knew what I knew
