One Man Mormon Blues Band: Music

Electromagnetic Blues (plan of Salvation Blues)

(One Man Mormon Blues Band)
I wrote this song as a "plan of salvation" blues. The electromagnetic field is the earth and mortality and the references to technical stuff was supposed to be a metaphor for earth life. I was real pleased with it, until almost two years after I released it my family told me one night that they "didn't get it". They had never known what I was talking about. So now I'm left to wonder how many people out there are asking, "why did he write that song?"

Oh well, now you know. But when an author has to explain his work, it seems obvious he didn't do his job well.
They say where I’m going, I gotta cross a magnetic field.
They say where I’m going, I gotta cross a magnetic field.
But I didn’t see no stop sign, didn’t even say I had to yield.
My fingers do the walking through the world of list serve news.

Bulletin boards and chat rooms, can’t tell what’s false from what is true.

It’s a dangerous road, windshield chocked with static dust.

They say it will last forever. Silicon and glass will never rust.
Beneath satellites and wires, and electromagnetic waves.

But all this information hasn’t given me what I crave.

Now I’ve walked through the fire, ultraviolet light has shown on me.

I may be dusty and old, but at least you’ll know I died clean.
They say where I’m going, I gotta cross a magnetic field.
