This song is LOOSELY autobiographical. My wife and I are both converts, but she joined before I met her. On our very first date, we sat on her front porch for a few minutes and talked before hitting a movie. Somehow in that conversation she managed to say that if she ever married it would be in the Temple. Now I didn't have a clue what a Temple was, and I remember thinking, "Marriage? I was just thinking about taking in a movie." But I knew from that moment that this girl was a spiritual woman with standards and goals.

Interestingly, on our second date she asked me to pick her up early. When I did we stopped to visit an elderly lady that my wife visited regularly. I was so amazed that a girl would take me to visit some old lady, and at how good I felt when we left.

There isn't room here to tell the whole story, but I seriously doubt I would have ever listened to the Missionaries without her influence.

I looked for trouble and I found it man.
