One Man Mormon Blues Band: Music

Opposition in All Things

(One Man Mormon Blues Band)
Can there be a better blues hook than this title. It captures the plan of salvation and the human condition all at the same time. The first verse is about my Father. Second verse is about me.
He was born in 1913
I’d like to have seen the things he’d seen
If he was surprised he never let it show
Where he wanted to get that’s where he’d go
Born a poor boy but still a king
Came from Heaven for an earthly queen
From lonely birth until deaths sting
Opposition in all things
Opposition in all things
The open door is now closing
Straight and narrow becomes a ring
The earthbound soul takes to wing

He had a son in 45
Heart break hotel and all that jive
Double minded man in all his ways
With no direction in all his days
Born a poor boy who liked to sing
Came from Heaven for an earthly queen
With big ideas and guitar strings
Opposition in all things
Black and white hot and cold
On and off young and old
And you know what the sun will bring
Opposition in all things
