I have a son-in-law who is a Genealogy Genie. He has blessed our family by finding a large number of our ancestors. However, there are times, I understand, when he gets just a little carried away, unlike most people who really get into Genealogy.

No wants to hear my tale of woe.
I joined the Church a few years ago.
I learned about the unidentified dead,
And Old Isaiah stated messing with my head.
So I went an bought a computer so fine.
I even signed up to go on line.
MyFamily.com and Ancestors too.
And it only cost a few thousand to do.

I can’t eat. I can’t sleep.
I’m counting ghosts instead of counting sheep.
My four generations they say is due.
Personal Ancestral File blues.

Then I got the personal ancestral file.
Went to the library for quite awhile.
But the only ancestor I could see
Had a last known address of cell block 3.
Then I followed up on another line.
It only took about three years of my time.
But that’s when I really started to grieve,
He belonged to some mob back in Missouri.

Been back to the old country about seven times
Trying to chase down that family line.
I don’t know how much money I've spent
Cause I embezzled it all from the groceries and rent.
They say that a man can’t be saved alone.
For his ancestors he must turn over each stone.
But there’s a note on my pillow that says, "get a life."
You can have your ancestors, OR your wife.
