Trus is all boy! The week end after New Years he came to visit and he and I had the best wrestling match I've had since his father was a boy. He has a lot of energy and really can't sit still for very long, but I sort of understand that. However, I should add that he does like to read and will sit and read books by the hour sometimes. He's my buddy.
Fetch down the fiddle, rosen up the bow
And play a little bit of that Cotton Eyed Joe
Arkansas Traveler, or Boil Them Cabbage Down
Going to have some fun cause Trus came to town.
Play Cluck Old Hen a time or two
And Amazing Grace before the morning dew
CHORUS
I’ll twine with ringlets of raven black hair
Lilies so sweet and roses so fair
Hush little baby don’t you cry
You’ve come from a place with an uncloudy sky
Let the dancers dance and fiddlers play
While Trus sleeps the night away
Strike up the banjo, tune the guitar
Take down the wash board, blow in the jar
Buffalo Gals and Blue Tail Fly
Truss is here and that is why
Orange Blossom Special makes feet fly
Then play one that will make little girls cry
Harmonica cry, rattle them bones
Everyone dance don’t be all alone
Stay all night, stay a little longer
Take off your coat and throw it in the corner
If I had the wings of an angel I’d fly
Rock-a-bye Trus now don’t you cry
