I'm a biologist, so what can I say. It seems universal that women pretty much destroy men's brains.

In defense of the Praying Mantis I should point out that this belief about the female devouring their mate is pretty much a myth. The evidence for this happening on a regular basis is anecdotal and sketchy. But it is such a commonly held belief that it makes a good metaphor none-the-less.
She was slender, long and lean
Not much hair and her skin was green.
Great big eyes out on the side
A pair of wings but she couldn’t fly
She had insect eyes, but I could see
The look she gave him you gave me.
Praying Mantis what do you say?
Praying Mantis am I your prey?

She bit off his head so he wouldn’t feel the pain.
She wanted his love so she destroyed his brain.
But I’ll survive. You won’t catch me.
I’ll resist the charms that are tempting me.
She had insect eyes, but I could see
The look she gave him you gave me.
Praying Mantis get away!
Your price is just to high to pay?

I’ll look away so I can’t see
All the things that you’re doing to me.
I know I ought to run away
But it feels so good when you talk that way.
She had insect eyes, but I could see
The look she gave him you gave me.
Praying Mantis I don’t want to play!
Praying Mantis so why do I stay?
