FLAMING MOTH PRODUCTIONS - The Goal: Lyrics so musical they don't need music - Music so lyrical it doesn't need lyrics - Stories so compelling they must be told
WELCOME TO FLAMING MOTH PRODUCTIONS!
FINALLY! A new blog. Sorry about the delay.
Jetta Alyse has arrived. I haven't met her yet, but we hope to meet her over the 4th of July. Her pictures look beautiful. I have been working on her song. I have the lyrics and music pretty well worked out. But it will probably take some time in the studio to get it recorded and posted on the site. I don't think she'd appreciate it yet anyway.
I am also working on "Immigrants" and we are on our final mixes. I am really pleased with some of the things we have been able to do. In one song we took a repeating phrase in the song and flipped it backward. So now I have an embedded, secret message in a song, just like the big rock and roll groups were said to have done. Only mine isn't Satanic. Mine is an embedded, secret, Heavenly, message. OK. Weird. But wait until you hear it.
I am calling this project "Immigrants: notes on Genesis". There are seventeen songs, most of which were written almost two years ago in a two week fit of, well, I like to call it inspiration, but it may have just been insanity. Anyway all the songs revolve around the creation of the earth and the story of Adam and Eve and the Garden. It strikes me that they came here as immigrants, they left the garden as immigrants, and they returned to Heavenly father as Immigrants. As do we.
Not sure when it will be done. Some of that depends on the financial situation of the world and my ability to continue to indulge this addiction.
The writer workshop was a ton of fun. Hope I can go again next year. If you are a writer, you ought to consider it.
